Mo Farah will not defend his 10,000 meters Olympic title after failing to attain the qualification time at the British Athletic Championship.
The four-time Olympic champion missed the qualifying time in an invitational 10,000 m in Manchester.
The 38-year-old athlete needed to run under 27 minutes and 28 seconds at Manchester Regional Arena to book a slot in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
But he clocked 27 minutes and 47 seconds, 19 seconds outside the qualifying time.
The British athletes' squad for Tokyo will be unveiled on Tuesday but for the first time since 2004, Farah who also raced at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will not be in it.
