Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka joins Bungoma governor race

It's now official, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka will be seeking to reclaim Bungoma governor's seat.

According to reports, the Speaker will be contesting on a Ford Kenya ticket.

Lusaka who served as Bungoma first governor was floored  by the incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati in the 2017 polls.

" I am firmly in the race with one option of winning," Lusaka told the Nation on Thursday.

"I will be having an earthquake in Bungoma town next week on Friday where I will be announcing the party that I will be vying on. But you all know that I have been working well with our senator."

Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang'ula has been campaigning for Lusaka after falling out with the incumbent Wangamati who has since moved to the Democratic Alliance Party of Kenya (DAP-K).

According to sources privy to Ford Kenya activities, Lusaka will officially be welcomed to the Ford Kenya party a wing of Kenya Kwanza Alliance next Friday at Posta grounds, Bungoma.
