Jubilee party has officially settled on Francis Kimemia as it's candidate for Nyandarua Gubernatorial seat.
The announcement comes days after reports emerged that both Governor Kimemia and former Water Cabinet Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki who were all eyeing the Jubilee party ticket had failed to agree on who will fly the party's flag.
While confirming the news, Ms Kariuki said she is out of the August 9 race for Nyandarua governorship race and will now channel her energy at popularizing the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance and it's presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
"I took this bold decision after consulting widely and listening to the people of Nyandarua who asked me to present myself as a candidate for the upcoming Nyandarua gubernatorial election," said Ms Kariuki who was flanked by her husband Zabby Kariuki and several Jubilee Party officials.
This now means Governor Kimemia who is seeking to defend his seat will face UDA's Kiarie Badilisha on the August 9 polls.
