Singer Jackey Israel strict about name change after transformation

Singer Jackey Israel who was popular known as Jah’Key Malle has made it clear that he should not be addressed as Jah’Key Malle anymore as he is experiencing a new life after his spiritual transformation.

The reggae maestro was on a self-appointed break from music the industry and his comeback is different as he shows that he turned from his ways, saw the light and got born again. He has become a pure gospel singer.

“If anyone calls me Jah'Key Marley, it will cost them Ksh1,000 per mention instantly,” the legendary reggae artist told a local daily.

He performed with his band at Tap Lounge, formerly Clique Lounge, earlier this week.

Israel first introduced Uptown Reggae Mondays at the lounge when he was still a secular reggae artist. That was also where he hosted his last gig before the turnaround.

Earlier this week, he performed alongside legendary selector Papa Charlie.

Host Double Trouble said, “It wasn’t easy to convince him to come out and perform for his fans. He initially requested us to wait until the voice of the most high advised on whether to perform in a club or not.”

Prominent personalities such as Big Ted and DJ Nijo among others attended the event.
