Outgoing Mandera County Governor Ali Roba has ditched Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance to join President-elect William Ruto's Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Roba was accompanied by Mandera governor-elect Mohamed Khalif, and we're received by Dr Ruto at his Karen residence.
"We salute the United Democratic Movement (UDM) leadership for abandoning Azimio La Umoja and joining Kenya Kwanza," said Dr Ruto.
Mr Roba acquired UDM party, from the late retired Major John Koech to champion North Eastern region affairs.
UDM managed to get 7 Members of Parliament, 2 Governors, 2 Senators and 35 Members of the County Assembly.
