Ugandan capital Kampala hit by twin explosions

Two explosions were on Tuesday morning reported in Kampala, Uganda.

Photos and videos shared on social media showed heavy clouds of smoke and some cars burning near Jubilee Insurance offices along Parliamentary Avenue.

Parliament has since been sealed off by the security agencies with the Tuesday session being suspended by Parliament Deputy Speaker Ms. Anita Among.

Another explosion was reported at Kooki Towers opposite Central Police Station in Kampala.

Last month, the Islamic State group said it was behind an attack on a bar in Kampala which killed a 20-year-old waitress.

The cause of Tuesday's explosion was not immediately clear.
