Kenyan musician Stephen Otieno Adera, popularly known as Stivo Simple Boy, has dismissed claims that his management is exploiting as he has not been benefiting from his craft.
According to Stivo, the rumors started after he released his hit song ‘Vijana Tuache Mihadarati’ as some people's perception soon afterwards started to change.
In an interview with Youtube Lynn The Kibera-bred singer said, “People are saying that I am being taken advantage of, but that is not true. I want someone who indeed has evidence to what is being said to come out and prove.”
Dismissing the claims that he is being exploited, Stivo said his manager Oyoo is the one who is usually in charge of negotiations, adding that
if there is a deal, they both normally discuss over it and come to a mutual agreement.
“We all sit and decide together before signing a deal...Every job comes with its own challenges. You cannot release one song today and after it becomes a hit you immediately start shifting places or buying a car. It is a process.”
Stivo assured his fans that he is doing perfectly fine, urging them to be patient and give him more time saying his fellow residents from Kibera have a lot of expectations from him.
The rapper said, “People feel now that I am an artist, I need to relocate to a better living environment but it’s a slow process and guys should give me more time. I will move to a better estate one day.”
