Several flights that were scheduled to touch down at the busy Jomo Kenyatta International Airport we're on Friday diverted to Mombasa due to bad weather in Nairobi
Moi International Airport Manager Peter Wafula said at least five planes were diverted before mid-morning.
Some of the aircraft diverted to Mombasa include two Kenya Airways planes from Accra and Lagos, Egypt Air from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Jambo Jet plane.
A Jambo Jet plane that left Mombasa for Nairobi had to return back to Moi International Airport due bad weather.
