15- year-old arrested over death of a caretaker in Nandi

A 15-year-old boy in Nandi has been arrested in connection with the death of a caretaker

Reportedly, while on his way back home from school on Monday evening, the boy trespassed into a parcel of land manned by the deceased, Jackson Liboyo Kaderathe.

The caretaker then intercepted the boy, warning
him against passing through the tea and beans beans plantation.

However, a fistfight ensued when the boy, who is a Class Seven pupil in one of the local primary schools in Kapsimatwo, proved to be rebellious when the 44-year-old caretaker confronted him.

The area assistant chief Philip Magut said, "The boy picked a stone from the farm periphery and hit Kadera on his forehead. He collapsed, but recovered after first aid was administered to him at the scene."

The deceased’s body was found in his house on Tuesday morning.

"He was lying in a pool of blood. It seems, even after the fight, the bleeding continued, and this could have led to his demise," Magut added.

After arresting the boy, the police took him to Singhor police station for interrogation.

According to Tindiret OCPD Abdulahi Jire, preliminary investigations show that the boy is a key suspect in in the death of the caretaker.

Jire noted, "He will be presented to court once the police conclude the investigation."
