A woman who allegedly strangled her two children to death in Jerusalem-Waithaka, Dagorreti sub-county, Nairobi has surrendered to the police.
Reportedly, the mother of three, Diana Kibisi, locked herself with her three children in their single room before killing her 4 and 3 year old sons.
According to sources close to the family, the suspect's mother in-law had traveled from Lugari to Nairobi to help her and her husband Alex Miheso solve their domestic issues but things did not go as well as expected since new disagreements arose.
Alex said that he did not expect things to turn out the way they did, with his wife killing their children even though they had indeed been facing some challenges in their marriage.
He claimed, “She called in the evening and asked me to come home, that she has killed the children. She has always threatened to kill our kids, she has always sent me messages threatening to kill the kids.”
According to the relatives who arrived at the scene first, the bodies of the two boys lay on the couch with marks all over their necks, and their pants wet with poop while the third child, a little girl, was in bed obliviously gazing at the dark.
Dagoretti sub-county Commander Francis Wahome confirmed the incident, adding that the woman killed the children on Sunday evening before surrendering to Waithaka police post to report the incident.
