Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to receive her COVID jab on Wednesday at State House, Dar es Salaam as the East African nation launches the COVID-19 vaccination exercise.
Tanzania received 1,058, 400 doses of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine from the US through the COVAX initiative on Saturday.
The country's Health Minister Dr. Dorothy Gwajima in a statement said President Suluhu will be the first person to be inoculated.
Tanzania expects to receive more vaccines with Dr. Gwajima urging residents to continue adhering to COVID-19 protocols aimed at curbing the spread of the virus .
