A Nairobi court has detained Dickson Njanja Mararo, a suspect behind the shooting of two police officers at Quiver Lounge in Nairobi for 7 days to allow police to complete their investigations.
Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul during her ruling on Wednesday denied granting the prosecution 14 days it had sought for terming it too long.
The prosecution which told the court that the two officers shot and injured during the incident had been treated had sought for the 14 days to enable them to record statements, retrieve CCTV footage, prepare ballistic reports and present the medical reports from the victims.
The case will be mentioned on July 15, 2021.
Mararo however through his lawyer Cliff Ombeta objected the application .
The suspect is alleged to have shot and injured the officer following an argument over a woman.
