Lionel Messi ended his drought for an International title with his national side as Argentina beat Brazil in the Copa America final in Rio Maracana stadium in Brazil.
Messi 34, dropped to the ground in joy after the final whistle and was joined by his teammates before being held high in the air as he finally clinched a major title with his country in his 10 major tournaments.
Messi was named the player of the tournament after his four goals in the competition.
The Copa America win ends Argentina's 28-year trophyless streak.
The victory goal was scored by Angel Di Maria.
The tournament was delayed last year by a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic and was moved from the initial co-host Colombia and Argentina to Brazil.
