Kenya has recorded 976 new Covid-19 cases from 6,896 samples tested in the last 24 , pushing the cumulative cases to 198,935 and marking a positivity rate of 14.2%.
According to the Ministry of Health, total recoveries stand at 187,563 after 969 more patients have recovered from the disease.
From the new recoveries, 856 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care Program while 113 are from various health facilities countrywide.
From the total recoveries, 149,755 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program while 37,808 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Unfortunately, 10 patients are reported to have succumbed to the disease, all of them being late deaths reported after conducting facility record audits in the months of March, June and July 2021.
Currently, 1,276 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 3,613 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
From the 172 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 37 are on ventilatory support, 84 on supplemental oxygen and 51 patients are under observation.
The Health Ministry also said that so far 1,682,899 vaccines have been administered across the country with the first doses being 1,049,847 and the second being 633,052
