A game-worn jersey of legendary Michael Jordan from his second season at the University of North Carolina sold for a record Sh147 million on Saturday.
That was over three times the previous record for a Jordan jersey.
Chris Ivy of Heritage Auctions said, “As the final price tag proves, this jersey has everything any serious collector could possibly want.”
In the 1984 NBA draft, Jordan was taken from the University of North Carolina as the third pick.
Last year, Jordan jersey from his third season with the Bulls in 1986-87 sold for Sh51 million.
In the 1990s, the longtime basketball star won six NBA championships with the Bulls, establishing himself as one of the most iconic athletes globally.
The basketball Hall of Famer now owns the Charlotte Hornets NBA franchise and items associated have attracted huge sums of money.
