Kisumu County Assembly has become the second assembly after Siaya to approve the BBI constitutional amendment bill.
The move by the assembly to ratify the bill comes just a day after a five Judge bench barred the electoral body from subjecting the bill to a referendum before petition challenging the bill are heard and determined by the High Court.
The report was tabled on the floor of the House by the Justice and Legal affairs chairman and East Seme MCA Seth Okumu.
The assembly members unanimously voted for the bill.
Speaker Elisha Oraro said he will write to the Speakers of both the National Assembly and the Senate informing them of the decision of the County Assembly of Kisumu.
