Cavani on fire as Manchester United stun Saints

Southampton got two early goals from Bednarek and Ward-Prowse before  substitute Cavani scored twice and set up Bruno Fernandes to complete a dramatic comeback.

The Red Devils  lost David De Gea at half-time due to a knee injury sustained in the opening period and was replaced by Dean Henderson.

Sunday's win was the 10th time that United had come from behind to beat Southampton in Premier League history.

Theo Walcott was quick to test back-up goalkeeper Dean Henderson in the early minutes of a second half that saw United threaten.

Cavani was phenomenal as he headed home twice  and teed up Fernandes on the road to their 3-2 win.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl speaking to Match of the Day: "They played Cavani and he is very hard to defend against. We couldn't keep the pressure high on them. We tried everything and made a fantastic game."

United are seventh on the league table with 16 points while southampton maintain fifth position with 17 points.
