Comedian Sleepy David bags new TV deal

Churchill show comedian Sleepy David has landed a new TV deal with KTN where he will host a new show on the station. 

According to Sleepy, the show dubbed Shining Stars will be a platform for children to showcase their talents and help them develop life skills. 

The comedian said, "The platform is meant for discovering, nurturing and celebrating children in different fields by helping them see there are different careers in other sectors." 


The show is scheduled to air every Saturday from 7.30pm on KTN. 

Apart from featuring talented children and various celebrities, the new show will have a segment called “Hangout with Sleepy.”which is meant to make it fun and interactive.

"At Shining Stars, we believe in preparing our loved ones to thrive in the global economy. We remain committed and focused on providing Safe edutainment space for the whole family," Sleepy added. 

Sources also reveal that in 2019 the comedian already started laying the foundation of the show as he engaged more than 2,800 children in the Shining Stars Network in a bid to nurture their talents. 

Sleepy also said that he borrowed a leaf from the Toto's corner concept on the Churchill Show where he rose to fame. 

"I live off art and it is a blessing to earn a living doing what you love. We can build a whole industry that can expand the economy. Once we have a vibrant industry we can share our culture and products with the world," Sleepy expressed his sentiments and passion. 

The comedian dropped an engineering course and delved into theatre arts and film technology studies at the University. 

 He urged people to support the creative industry because it is a great source for employment opportunities globally.
