The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC)is set to probe Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria over claims that he aided in rigging of elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The electoral body chair Wafula Chebukati made the announcement shortly after the the swearing-in of CEO Marjan Hussein.
"We are aware of what the MP said but people always have their versions of what they said. So our investigation team is probing before we summon him," Chebukati said.
Speaking during the unveiling of DP William Ruto as the UDA flag bearer the Gatundu South MP alleged that he and other political leaders helped Uhuru to win the 2017 general elections.
"Kuna wengine wanasema ati kura ya mlima itagawanywa; mheshimiwa Ann Waiguru, Rigathi Gachagua, Muthomi Njuki, Kimani Ichung’wa, Senator Linturi, Alice Wahome, Faith Gitau, Kimani wa Matangi…Sisi ndio tulikuwa tukishikilia Uhuru kura, na sisi ndio tulikuwa tunamuibia kura,” Kuria stated.
