EX-CS Davis Chirchir appointed DP Ruto's Chief of Staff

Former Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has been appointed as the new chief of staff in the office of the Deputy President.

According to a memo seen by LATEST, Chirchir was appointed on February 24th.

The position fell vacant following the death of Ambassador Ken Osinde on December 10 at the Nairobi Hospital after a short illness.

“You are invited for a meeting with the new Chief of Staff on Tuesday,” read to the staff from Administrative Secretary Shadrack Mwadime.

Chirchir was the chief agent for President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017 general elections.

He was sacked from the cabinet over allegations of impropriety at the Kenya Power and Lighting Company.

Prior to his appointment in the cabinet he served head of ICT at the Interim Independent Electoral Commission(IIEC).
