Tuju resigns as Jubilee Secretary General

Immediate former Cabinet Secretary Without Portfolio Raphael Tuju has resigned as Jubilee party secretary-general.

The former Rarienda MP confirmed his resignation during the party's National Delegates Conference held at the Kenyatta International Convention Center( KICC)on Saturday.

Tuju thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for bestowing trust in him despite coming 'four kilometres from the home of your chief opponent."

"Thank you for standing with me even at a personal level when I had a horrific accident until now I am able to stand here.

Tuju hinted that he will be contesting for a political seat but didn't reveal which seat he will be gunning for.

"We have agreed with the president that he will give me other responsibilities going forward,' Tuju said.

Adding "I can't be secretary-general and also pursuing other political ambitions and doing other jobs he has given me.'

Following his exit, Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni has been elected to replace him. He will serve for a five-year term.
