Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be absent from the touchline for Saturday’s FA Cup fourth-round tier against Plymouth Argyle.
The Blues are set to take on the League One side at Stamford Bridge tonight.
After the FA Cup tie, the blues will fly out for the Club World Cup, which takes place in Abu Dhabi next week.
Chelsea who are last season's Champions League winners will go up against either Al-Hilal or Al-Jazira in the semi-finals on Wednesday, before a potential final against Palmeiras, Monterrey or Al Ahly next Saturday.
In a statement, Chelsea confirmed that Tuchek had tested positive for Covid-19.
‘The Chelsea head coach will now follow necessary self-isolation protocols and hopes to join up with the team in Abu Dhabi later next week.
‘The team fly out for the Club World Cup following this afternoon’s FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle.’
