Bobasi Member of Parliament Innocent Obiri has ditched Moses Wetangula's led Ford-Kenya for Wiper Democratic Movement party.
Mr Obiri made the move during One Kenya Alliance (OKA) tour of the Kisii and Nyamira Counties on Thursday.
He was received together with a dozen of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) by the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
Obiri said that he was confident of the party's popularity in the country as he anticipates to defend his seat on it.
“Mimi nikiona mkiwa hapa hivi wengi na mimi nikijiunga na nyinyi najua kitaweza kuwa chama kubwa,” Obiri said.
Kalonzo, on his part, praised the move by the MP saying it was key in establishing a base for Wiper in the region.
Obiri was in 2017 elected on a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before he moved to Ford-Kenya where he served as the party's Deputy Party leader.
