Mbagathi Way is now Raila Odinga Way as the road sign replacement was done on Thursday night.
The road runs from City Mortuary Round about to Lang’ata Road Round about.
A few weeks ago, the Nairobi County Assembly passed a motion to rename the road in honour of the former Prime Minister over his advocacy for multi-party democracy in Kenya.
The motion was introduced by Minority Whip Peter Imwatok who said that the recognition of deserving leaders should be when they are alive and not after they die.
Imwatok added that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party who is also a presidential aspirant has greatly improved the democratic and economic development of Kenya.
Several leaders among them Kisii Governor James Ongwae have lauded the move despite others criticising it.
Ongwae said, “Raila Odinga way is a well-deserved honour for the enormous political, economic and developmental contributions to our country.”
