Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed has formed a caretaker committee to run the affairs of the Football Kenya Federation( FKF) after kicking out the entire Nick Mwendwa team out of office.
Justice (Rtd.) Aaron Ringera has been appointed to chair the caretaker committee whose six-month mandate includes running all the affairs of the federation.
The CS move follows the recommendation of the inspection committee which was led by the sports registrar which the CS formed last month to investigate the Football Kenya Federation that is facing allegations of misappropriation of sports funds.
An election is set to be held within the period after which the committee will hand over to the newly elected officials
"The Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Heritage shall facilitate the operations of the Caretaker Committee,” the statement by CS Amina said.
The Sports ministry has notified the world football governing body FIFA of the changes.
