Sergio Aguero will be out of action for three months after undergoing a 'cardiological evaluation 'Barcelona has confirmed.
The Barca striker was forced off 41 minutes into Barcelona 1-1 draw with Alaves on Saturday at Camp Nou after falling to the floor clutching his chest.
"The first team player Sergio Agüero has been subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr. Josep Brugada," Barça said in a statement.
"He is unavailable for selection and during the next three months the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process,"
"The Argentine was taken to hospital for cardiological evaluation on Saturday following the Barça v Alavés game in which the Barça striker felt unwell in the first half and was replaced before half time by Philippe Coutinho."
" I am doing well and in good spirits to take on the process of recuperation," Aguero tweeted on Tuesday.
Aguero made his debut for the Catalan Club in October since joining from Manchester City.
His absence will pile more pressure on the club that has faced an uphill task and currently sits in ninth place in the La Liga log after 11 games and nine points behind leaders Real Sociedad.
