Harambee Stars traveling squad to Mali unveiled


Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has named his traveling squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on Thursday.

Eric Zakayo and US based Philip Mayaka are some of the players included in the 25 man squad.

Firat also tapped on Kenyan internationals Michael Olunga, Spain based Ismael Gonzalez and Serbia based Richard Odada.

A total of nine player have been dropped from the traveling squad they include Ulinzi Stars custodian James Saruni Kariobangi Sharks defender Samuel Olwade and Gor Mahia's Frank Odhiambo.

Midfielders Musa Masika ( Wazito)has also Patillah Omoto( Kariobangi Sharks) Keagan Ndemi(Bandari) and Reagan Otieno from KCB have also been axed from the squad.

Kariobangi Sharks forward Sydney Lokale has also been dropped.

Goalkeepers:Ian Otieno, Brian Bwire, Faruk Shikhalo.

Defenders:Joseph Okumu, Joash Onyango, David Owino Odhiambo, Johnstone Omurwa, Eugene Asike, Daniel Sakari, David Owino Ambulu, Abud Omar, Eric Ouma, Bolton Omwenga.

Midfielders:Richard Odada, Lawrence Juma, Ismael Gonzalez, Kenneth Muguna, Duke Abuya, Boniface Muchiri, Eric Zakayo, Phillip Mayaka, Abdalla Hassan.

Forwards:Michael Olunga, Henry Meja, Eric Kapaito.


The away match is set to be played at the Stade Adrar  in Morocco after CAF failed to arrive any stadium in the West African nation.
