Form Four student stabbed to death at a bar after altercation over a woman

An altercation over a woman in a bar at Siongiroi area in Chepalungu, Bomet County, resulted in a Form Four student being stabbed to death.

Reportedly, an unknown woman stabbed the 24-year-old twice in the neck after they argued over a woman said to be relatively new in the area.

Siongiroi location chief Joseph Ngeno said, “The cuts are deep, which shows he was stabbed with a sharp knife, the blood spilled all over the place even some drops have been traced to Siongiroi health center where he was rushed by some Good Samaritan.” 

After witnessing the incident, the woman in question fled. It is said that she recently moved to Siongiroi area from Sotik. 

The deceased has since been identified as a day scholar at Kapsinendet Secondary School in Chepalungu sub-county.

A male suspect who is aiding with investigations is being held by police officers in Chebunyo police post. 

According to Chepalungu sub-county police boss Nelson Masai, more officers have been dispatched to the ground to conduct further investigations.

The body of the deceased was taken to Longisa county referral hospital mortuary.
