Bars and restaurants have been allowed to operate up to 11 pm following the vacation of the nationwide dusk to dawn curfew by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
" Following the announcement by President Uhuru Kenyatta, I want to clarify that the bars will now operate until 11 pm or subject to their license operating hours," Kagwe said but warned revelers to observe social distance regulations set by the Ministry of Health.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday ordered the immediate lifting of the curfew that has been in force since March 27, 2020.
" I hereby order and direct the nationwide dusk-dawn curfew be vacated with immediate effect," he said amid cheers from members of the public who had attended the Mashujaa Day celebration at Wangu'ru Stadium in Kirinyaga.
The Head of State however remained mum on other restrictions such as the ban on public gatherings that was imposed 19 months ago.
Kenya has so far recorded 252,308 coronavirus cases , 5238 deaths, and 245,786 recoveries.
