Passenger plane makes emergency landing after Mombasa take off

A plane with 167 passengers was forced to make an emergency landing after taking off from Moi International Airport Mombasa on Saturday, September 18.

One of the aircraft's engines began to give false readings thereby resulting in the emergency landing.

The passengers boarded the plane in Mombasa and the emergency landing was in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Poland Deputy Foreign Minister Piotr Wawrzy took to his social media page to confirm the incident.

According to the Polish government official, the government sent another plane to pick them up from Ethiopia and Polish consular services were trying to obtain Ethiopian visas for the passengers to enable them to wait for another plane's arrival at a hotel.

Enter Air also confirmed that it was sending out a plane to pick up the passengers.

Investigations into the cause of the technical difficulties in the first plane were launched by the airline.

Some planes en route to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were on Friday, September 17 diverted to Mombasa International Airport where the Polish plane took off due to bad weather in Nairobi.
