Man stabs friend to death during brawl over job sacking blames

A 26-year-old man is facing murder charges after stabbing his 30-year-old friend during a bar fight over an argument over a job placement in Uasin Gishu County.

A police report indicates that the deceased, Peter Ekai, succumbed to injuries he got during the fight while Elphas Kipkoech sustained injuries.

Reportedly, an argument between the two friends ensued when they were on a drinking spree at Longisa trading centre in Kamagut.

It is alleged that Ekai accused Kipkoech of plotting to have him fired from ChapChap security agency where he (Ekai) worked as a guard in order to replace him.

However, Kipkoech denied the allegations and they were engaged in a war of words which turned into a full-blown bar brawl.

The two went on to attack each each other using sharp objects. They stabbed each other but Kipkoech aimed at Ekai's chest.

Unfortunately, on reaching the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he had been rushed for treatment, Ekai succumbed to the injuries.

On the other hand, Kipkoech was treated at the same hospital and was later discharged after which he was taken to the Eldoret Police Station.

Currently, he is being processed, waiting to answer to murder charges.
