Kanu delegates have unanimously endorsed party chairman Gideon Moi as their presidential candidate in the 2022 General Election.
The proposal, which received overwhelming endorsement from the delegates, was moved by
the party secretary general Nick Salat.
Speaking on Thursday during Kanu's National Delegates Conference at the Bomas of Kenya, Salat said, "Thus special delegates resolve as that Gideon Moi is hereby nominated as the Presidential candidate for the 2022 General."
"Gideon Moi is hereby mandated to engage other like minded leaders with a view of winning the next poll," he added.
Declaring that the independence party is back, the Secretary General urged delegates to market the party.
Salat told delegates, "We have been supporting people and it is time they also support us. I ask all of you members of our party that we go to the grassroots and galvanize our support."
