Former Ivory Coast Prime minister Charles Konan Banny has succumbed to Covid-19 complications.
According to reports Banny died in a hospital-based in the French capital on Friday.
Banny, who had contracted the deadly disease in Ivory Coast was undergoing treatment in France.
He served as the Premier of the West African nation between 2005 and 2007.
He headed the country’s Commission for Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation in 2011 following the 2010-2011 post-election violence that erupted in the country in the wake of the disputed presidential elections that left about 3,000 people dead and displaced hundreds of thousands of others.
Banny contested for President, unsuccessfully in 2015 against incumbent Alassane Ouattara.
