Court finds man who shot Ranalo Foods owner guilty of attempted murder

A Nairobi court has found Tom Oywa Mboya, the businessman who shot Ranalo Foods restaurant owner William Osewe, guilty of attempted murder.

Also, the court has found Mboya guilty of unlawfully wounding another man, Wilfred Tembula, who was injured during the incident.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku will deliver a ruling on October 4, 2021 when Mboya will be sentenced.

Until then, the businessman will be held at the Industrial Area remand prison.

It is believed that in December 2016 at Garden Estate in Kasarani, Mboya shot Osewe multiple times after an argument over Stella Mutheu, a woman believed to be Osewe's wife.

Osewe was admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU) where he underwent surgeries to remove the bullets.

On the other hand, Mboya surrendered himself to Kasarani Police Station and pleaded not guilty in his arraignment in court in 2017. He was released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000.
