Why Ringtone wants Alai's bail term cancelled

Gospel musician Alex Apoko better known as Ringtone has asked a Kibera Law court to cancel bond terms granted to controversial blogger Robert Alai in an assault case.

Ringtone wants Alai remanded until the case against him is heard and determined claiming he has been threatening him and his witnesses.

He wants Mr. Alai be charged  with contempt of court.

Through his lawyer Evans Ondieki, Ringtone claims Mr. Alai has also been using his proxies to publish defamatory information about him.

The Pamela hit maker claims that on August 10 this year Mr Alai published an outrageous article about him.

"The blogger also abused and insulted the complainant alleging that he is involved in an international car theft syndicate and uses music as a cover-up. The respondent’s (Alai’s) conduct is an affront on the rule of the law and due process,” read part of the plaintiff application.

The hearing of the assault case is set to kick off on September 10.
