National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi held talks with Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua at Village Market on Saturday, hinting of an alliance ahead of the 2022 presidential elections.
Muturi’s communication team issued a statement saying regional unity, political and economic development of the region, and youth empowerment were the aspects which the two leaders discussed.
Furthermore, Muturi and Karua agreed that the Mt Kenya region needs more leaders to enhance its welfare.
The statement read in part, "Muturi, the National Assembly Speaker, sought the support of the Narc Kenya Party leader in forging a joint political agenda moving forward.”
Since last month when he was installed as the Mt Kenya Spokesman, Muturi has intensified political activities as he looks forward to vie for the presidency in 2022.
The National Assembly Speaker commended Karua for her leadership qualities and consistency in advocating for good governance.
