Manchester United have completed the signing of defender Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
The Frenchman whose confirmation was earlier delayed due to covid-19 quarantine and contractual issues was unveiled on Saturday at Old Trafford before the United's match against Leeds United.
"Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down,” Varane said in a club statement.
“Having spoken to the manager I can see how much progress has been made over the last few seasons and I now join a group ready to play at the highest level." he added.
Varane becomes the United's third signing this summer, following the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borrusia Dortmund for £73million and the free acquisition of Tom Heaton.
