Man stabs 10 passengers on Tokyo train

The Tokyo Fire Department has confirmed that on Friday night a man with a knife  stabbed 10 people on a train.

According to the department, no deaths were reported in the incident. 

They found victims with bloodstains when they arrived at the scene after responding to a call at 8 p.m. 

Japan’s public broadcaster, NHK, stated that the suspect walked to a convenience store and turned himself in telling the clerk, “I am the suspect of the crime that’s playing in the news right now. I’m tired of running.” 

The clerk said that the suspect had bloodstains on him. 

Tokyo Metropolitan Police also confirmed that the suspect, who appears to be in his 30s, turned himself in and admitted to the charge saying, “ I just wanted to kill any women who looked happy, anyone.”

According to Reuters, The incident occurred on an Odakyu Line train, between Seijogakuen-mae station and Soshigaya-Okura station in Setagaya Ward. 

One of the passengers recorded a video and posted it on social media and medical workers on the train could be seen putting on plastic gloves.
