Football Kenya Federation ( FKF) has provisionally suspended the chairman of Gor Mahia FC and AFC Leopards over their club's failure to honour a league fixture.
Addressing the Press on Sunday at Safari Park Hotel FKF President Nick Mwenda also announced that the clubs will be docked three points each.
Apart from the suspension of Ambrose Rachier (Gor Mahia )and Dan Shikanda( AFC Leopards) the clubs will have to part with 4 million and 6 million fines respectively.
"This is a time when leadership has to be shown and we have to follow the law. We will not sit here and allow the clubs to do what they want. There are rules and we will follow them. In our eyes, all clubs are equal and no one is bigger than the other,” Mwendwa said in a press briefing on Sunday.
The two clubs had last week threatened to boycott the Mashemeji derby accusing the federation of failing to honour grants amounting to sh 3 million from the FKF Betway Cup.
K'Ogalo and AFC Leopards were to play their fixture in Thika but they instead opted for a friendly match at Camp Toyoyo in Nairobi.
