Brace for rains -Weatherman warns

The Kenya Meteorological Department has announced that rainfall will be expected to spread into more places around Kenya today, adding that storms are likely to occur in some parts of the areas.

People in Nakuru, Migori, Homa Bay, Meru, Samburu, Nyarira, Kisii and Kericho counties should expect rainfall.

Other areas include West Pokot, Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Baringo, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a, Kiambu, Narok, Nairobi and some parts of Turkana Counties.

The department said, “Meanwhile the remaining counties of north-eastern, north-western South-eastern Lowlands & coastal counties will generally remain dry.

“Although, Cool and cloudy weather conditions will persist over several parts of the country,” it added.

The Kenya Meteorological Department last week told Kenyans to expect heavy rainfall of above 100 mm in some areas of the country such as the Rift Valley and the Lake Victoria Basin.

Kenyans on Twitter have expressed their frustration over the rain, with others confessing how the cold weather has kept them away from the shower for days.
