Python slides in an Austrian man's toilet bowl and bites him

A python that escaped a snake owner's apartment in Austria on Monday slid through the neighbor's drains and bit him while he was sitting on the toilet.

According to police in the province of Styria, the 65-year-old victim in the city of Graz saw a roughly 1.6-meter (5-foot) albino reticulated python in the toilet bowl shortly after 6 a.m.

The police stated, “Shortly after he sat on the toilet the Graz resident — by his own account — felt a ‘pinch’ in the area of his genitals.”

The snake was described as constrictor native to Asia that can grow to more than 9 metres (29 feet) long.

It was therefore removed from the toilet, cleaned it and returned it to its owner by a reptile expert
contacted by the emergency services.

The victim was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The 24-year-old snake owner in the neighborhood  has been reported to the office of the prosecutors on grounds of negligence that caused bodily harm.
