KOT go ham on Kamene Goro over her joke on Mental Health

Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) have gone ham on Kiss FM presenter Kamene Goro over what they have termed as an insensitive joke on Mental Health.

The Media Personality on Tuesday put up a post, which has since been deleted, supposedly joking about Mental Health.

She wrote, “Mental Health na hamna akili” and a section of KOT were angered by the post such that they called her out on what they deemed as ignorance from a public figure.

The message was that mental Health is a serious topic that doesn’t require such banter.

According to theirs, Kamene should use her platform to change the narrative for the better as there is already stigma in the society about those suffering or going through Mental Health.

Bravin Yuri, an influencer wrote, “This post by Kamene Goro has since been deleted. I would however like to tell Kamene that there is nothing funny about making fun of Mental Health. There is already too much Stigma towards people who are undergoing mental health challenges. Use your platform for the better."

"Posts like the one Kamene Goro made accompanied by the Jokes made by Comedians about stammering are distasteful. They do more damage than good. When you are a public figure, you should be able to condemn mental health Stigma not support it. Do better” he added.
