Police disrupt UDA meeting in Nyali

Police on Thursday disrupted a mobilization meeting of the United Democratic Alliance officials convened at a hotel in Mombasa.

According to Nyali sub-county Police Commander Daniel Masaba, the conveners of the meeting failed to inform the authorities of the meeting held at Terrace Villa Resort.

"No gathering of people like this is allowed, especially political meeting," said Masaba

Among those in attendance at the meeting was the party's chairman Johnson Muthama and Secretary-General Veronica Maina

Acting on a tip-off, the two senior-most officials evaded arrest by fleeing from the venue.

The Thursday meetings had brought together aspirants from the coast region.
