Photos: Nairobi's Dig Dig road renamed to Francis Atwoli road

The Nairobi County Government has named a road after the Central Organization of Trade Union Secretary-General Francis Atwoli.

The road is in Kileleshwa, near Kenya High School was previously known as Dig Dig road.

Speaking moments after the unveiling of the road, Atwoli said it was great honour and recognition of his service to the Kenyan workers.



" I want to thank the leadership of Nairobi County, under @annkananu_ , for this great honour and recognition of services to the Government of the day, the community and Worker's at large," Atwoli said.

The development comes barely three months after the Nairobi County Assembly approved the renaming of Acrra Road to Kenneth Matiba road.

The road was named in honour of the veteran politician and the second liberation fighter.

Other outstanding personalities who have had roads in the city renamed after them include; Late Senator Yussuf Haji( First Avenue road) Wangari Maathai( Forest Road ) and Charles Rubia ( Cross Road).
