Covid-19: Kenya records 392 new cases as fatalities nears 3,000

Kenya has recorded 392 new Covid-19 cases from 3,668 tests conducted, pushing the cumulative positive cases to 165,112 with the current positivity rate being 10.7%. 

From the new cases, 383 are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners and 237 are male while 155 are female. 

The oldest case is 94 years old while the youngest is a two-month-old infant. 

Total recoveries now stand at 113,432 as 184 individuals recovered from Covid-19 over the last 24 hours. From the new recoveries, 152 are from various health facilities countrywide while 32 are from home-based and isolation care.

Sadly, 8 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative fatalities to 2,976.

Currently, 1,040 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 4,813 are on home-based isolation and care.

From the 118 patients in the intensive care unit, 23 are on ventilatory support, 74 patients are on supplemental oxygen and 21 patients are under observation.

Another 88 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 83 in general wards and five in High Dependency Units (HDU).

933,436 individuals have been vaccinated against the virus so far.
