Covid-19: Kenya records 25 deaths, cumulative fatalities hit 3000


Kenya has recorded 267 new Covid-19 cases and 25 new deaths, bringing the cumulative positive cases and fatalities to 165,379 and 3,001 respectively. 

The new cases are from 4,436 tests conducted over the past 24 hours. The positivity rate has dropped to 6.0%.

The total number of cumulative tests conducted so far are 1,741,604.

From the new cases, 253 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners and 237 are male while 155 are female. 

The oldest case is 82 years old while the youngest is a seven-month-old infant. 

Total recoveries now stand at 113,489 as 57 individuals recovered from the disease over the past 24 hours. 

From the new recoveries, 23 are from various health facilities countrywide while 34 are from home-based and isolation care.

Currently, 1,030 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 4,813 are on home-based isolation and care. 

From the 117 in the intensive care unit, 23 are on ventilatory support, 73 on supplemental oxygen and 21 patients are under observation.

Another 84 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 79 in general wards and five in High Dependency Units (HDU).

933,826 individuals have been vaccinated against the virus so far.
