Burundi's President Evariste Ndayishimiye will arrive in Kenya on Monday for a two-state visit ahead of the Madaraka Day Celebration on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu County.
President Ndayishimiye will be accompanied by his wife, First lady of the Republic of Buru Angeline Ndayubaha.
The First Lady Margaret Kenyatta will also accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta on his three-day working tour of the Nyanza region, a State House communique has said.
Addressing the press on Saturday at State Lodge in Kisumu, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo said the President will arrive in Kisumu on Sunday and will be accompanied by Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o among other leaders.
"On 1st June 2021, His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead the Nation in marking the 59th Madaraka Day Celebrations at the new Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu County,” statement from State House reads.
President Uhuru's tour will culminate in Madaraka Day Celebrations with residents being urged to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols.
