Kenya has recorded 444 new positive Covid-19 cases from a sample size of 4,989 tested, pushing the cumulative positive cases to 170,485 with a current positivity rate of 8.9 per cent.
From the new positive cases, 435 are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners and 259 are males while 185 females.
The oldest case is 101 years while the youngest is a two-month-old infant.
Sadly, 17 people have succumbed to the disease, pushing the cumulative fatalities to 3,141.
Currently, a total of 1,171 patients are admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,682 patients are under the Home Based Isolation and Care program.
From the 104 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 21 are on ventilatory support, 58 on supplemental oxygen and 25 patients are under observation.
Another 90 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 84 of them in general wards and 6 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
So far, a total of 968,733 persons have been vaccinated against the Covid-19 countrywide.
From those vaccinated, 293,240 are aged 58 years and above, 165,409 are health workers, 152,315 are teachers, 82,007 are security Officers and 275,762 are in the ‘Others’ category
