Vjosa Osmani has been elected the seventh President and second female leader of Kosovo.
The 120 seat parliament on Monday gave 71 votes to the 38-year-old former Parliament speaker.
In November, Osmani was temporarily sworn in after the former president Hashim Thaci resigned to face charges against war crimes in the Netherlands.
Kosovo unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008.
Kosovo is recognized by more than 100 country except for Serbia and her allies Russia and China .
