President Uhuru Kenyatta has officially declared vacancies in the position of four commissioners at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ( IEBC) who resigned.
The four include; Roselyn Akombe, Consolata Nkatha, Paul Kurgat and Margaret Mwachanya.
In a gazette notice dated, April 14th the Head of State stated "
IEBC Vice-Chairperson Consolata Nkatha, commissioners Paul Kurgat and Margaret Mwachanya jointly resigned on April 16, 2018, citing a lack of confidence in the leadership of commission's chair Wafula Chebukati.
On the hand Rosely Akombe fled the country and announced her resignation while abroad on October 18, 2017 days to the repeat presidential elections citing threats to her life.
This left the commission with only the Chairman Wafula Chebukati and commissioners Abdi Goliye and Boya Molu.
